A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.

In Academy Award nominee Celine Song’s (Past Lives) sophomore feature, Dakota Johnson stars as a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker torn between the perfect match (Pedro Pascal) and her imperfect ex (Chris Evans).

The film is partly inspired by Song’s personal experience working as matchmaker. She writes, “The math is never going to work when it comes to love, and the contradiction of that is what’s at the heart of the film. If love is indeed our last religion, why shouldn’t we be anything but utterly honest about what love should be?“

Celine Song is an Academy Award nominated screenwriter, filmmaker, and playwright whose debut feature, Past Lives, earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Motion Picture. As a playwright, Song is best known for Endlings, which premiered in 2019 at American Repertory Theater and had its New York debut in 2020 at New York Theatre Workshop. She has been a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and a semifinalist for the American Playwriting Foundation's Relentless Award. Song also wrote on the first season of Amazon series The Wheel of Time.
