New Look Aldeburgh Cinema Film Club.

An afternoon hosted by Professor Peter Bloore, focussing on adaptation, screening Philomena.

Everyone welcome. The distinguished lecturer Peter Bloore, Professor of Creativity at UEA, is going to host an afternoon focussing on adaptation. Peter has chosen the film Philomena in which to lead the lecture and discussion. Come and enjoy a film, have a cup of coffee and be as involved as you feel comfortable, in the discussion afterwards.

Philomena is a 2013 drama film directed by Stephen Frears, based on the 2009 book The Lost Child of Philomena Lee by journalist Martin Sixsmith.  It is a moving story and based on a true story.  A world-weary political journalist picks up the story of a woman’s search for her son, who was taken away from her decades ago after she became pregnant and was forced to live in a convent.  It stars Judy Dench and Steve Coogan.
